T(Quasar 670); Internal Modification

The I-Q670 modification incorporates a fluorescent Quasar® 670 dye internally or at the 5’ terminus of an oligonucleotide. Quasar 670 modified oligonucleotides can be used in a wide array of applications including dual-labeled fluorogenic probes for real-time PCR. The fluorophore is conjugated to a modified thymidine which may participate in hybridization. Quasar 670 fluorophore is an indocarbocyanine dye which fluoresces in the red region of the visible spectrum and can be effectively quenched by BHQ®-2 dye. It is used as a direct replacement for the Cy™ 5 dye.

The CAL Fluor technology is covered by U.S. patent number 7,344,701B2. The Quasar technology is covered by U.S. Patent numbers 7,705,150B2, 7,868, 157B2 and 8,436,153B2. The Pulsar technology is covered by U.S. Patent numbers 7,635,762B2 and 8,119,781B2.
